Introduction
Welcome to the counseling department at Peabody Elementary. This website is designed to inform parents, students, faculty and the public about the services being offered by our professional school counselor, Mr. Christopher Jones. Mr. Jones is a highly qualified and certified PreK-12 school counselor with a Master's degree in counseling education, and has completed all coursework for the plus 45 degree in the state of TN, is an early doctoral student at the University of Memphis majoring in Educational Leadership, and he also is a certified beginning administrator in the state of TN. Please feel free to review this site, and contact Mr. Jones with any questions or concerns. His doors are always open.
Our School
Our school is located in the heart of Mid-Town Memphis, TN residing in the Cooper-Young Historical District. The school itself is 105 years strong, and it creates a positive and diverse atmosphere to ensure growth of the educational, social, and physical skills of all children that enters its doors.
Mr. Jones offers individual, group and classroom guidance dealing on topics such as bullying, character education, academic and social skills, career interest, and positive behavior. Mr. Jones other duties and services include assistance with administrative duties, arrival and dismissal procedures, S-Team academic and behavior consultation with parents and faculty, S.A.R.T. attendance team/chairman, R.T.I.-A (Academic) and R.T.I.-B (Behavior) monitoring, Parent Relationship/Consultation (Open House), Honors Program (PreK-5), Healthy Choice Week, and outside agency liaison (mental health centers, child abuse hotline, TN Department of Children Services), We invite you to come visit our school and learn more about our philosophy for preparing children for success.

Public Announcement: ATTENTION ALL DADS!!! We are in desperate need of Peabody dads to join our WATCHDOG team to help us in the morning for 15 minutes with arriving students. You would only have to volunteer one week maybe once every 4-6 weeks and it's only for 15 minutes. If you are interested or if you could recommend someone, please call or email Mr. Jones ASAP!
